It's a miracle that we can play together like this, even though we are each from a different corner of the world. Each member of the band has a different worldview and different roots. Through common music, we unexpectedly found a common home to share with you!
The Allstar Refjúdží band was founded in 2008 as part of the performance "Dance over the fence" directed by Jana Svobodová in the Archa theater. The first band leader was the quirky musician and composer Michael Romanyshyn from the world-famous American theater group Bread and Puppets.
The fresh, original music of the band confronts and combines musical motifs and texts from completely different cultures. A large part of them are brought by the musicians themselves, who open their own stories through music. Of course you will find the theme of immigration in them, but they are also about joy and problems that concern us all, here and now.
Musically, the group mixes Middle Eastern folk and pop, Eastern European style accordion and pop music, Swiss mountain tunes, French chanson, punk dixie, ethno rap and other genres.
After the successful debut of the album SPAS! produced by the Archy theater, Allstar Refjúdží band released their second studio album Kdo žere psy? in co-production with Indies MG in 2012.
The Allstar Refjúdží band played repeatedly at important domestic festivals such as United Islands, Festival Pohoda, Colors of Ostrava and many others.
Abroad, the Allstar Refjúdží band gave concerts in the USA, Germany, Poland, Holland and was a frequent guest in Slovakia.
